What is the difference between OPGW and ADSS hardware?
OPGW cable and ADSS cable are completely different in structure, so they should be different in hardware.
(1) Compared with ADSS, OPGW hardware requires higher slip strength and vertical load, so OPGW preformed rods for tension and suspension purposes needs higher strength, longer strand length and greater diameter than ADSS preformed fittings
(2) In order to meet the function of OPGW ground wire, OPGW fittings need to be installed with ground wire. ADSS’s do not need.
(3) Because the hanging Angle steel is normally reserved on the tower, the OPGW hardware does not need to be equipped with additional fasteners, while the ADSS line needs to be equipped with joint tower fittings.
(4) Due to the structural differences between OPGW optical cable and ADSS optical cable, there are also differences in the structure of cable joints between OPGW optical cable and ADSS optical cable.
