How to distinguish different socket tongues?

The Socket Tongues are divided into socket clevis and socket eye according to the different structure and service conditions. How can they be distinguished? As shown in the following figure:

Clevis type.

The clevis type with a bot, normalled installed with link plate.

 

Eye type

The single eye type with a link hole, normalled installed with shackles or clevis.

 

They are basic items used as electric power fittings on overhead power transmission towers, to connect suspension or tension clamp and insulator strings in power grid construction, and plays the role of connecting wires and insulation with other accessories.

How are they made?

They are normally produced by casting, and then hot dip galvanized. The pins are of stainless steel.
